The long-awaited seventh generation of Nissan’s Z-car boasts exciting updates to the powertrain and chassis, including twin turbocharging and suspension refinements. A host of new technologies has been packed into the sports car, as well. This is your guide to the 2024 Nissan Z!

Performance Unleashed: The 2024 Nissan Z

Thrilling Powertrain

The new Nissan Z is powered by a robust 3.0L twin-turbo V6 engine featuring a liquid intercooler and drive-by-wire throttle control. On Sport and Performance models, this motor pumps out a substantial 420 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque—good for a 0 to 60 time of well under five seconds. The top-spec NISMO trim’s variant of the V6 has been specially tuned by Nissan’s high-performance and motorsport division, increasing power to 420 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque.

Traditionalists will appreciate that the Nissan Z’s engine pairs with a butter-smooth 6-speed manual transmission that features short throws and links up with a high-performance clutch. An engaging 9-speed automatic is optional on the Sport and Performance and standard on the NISMO. This transmission allows the driver to switch to a manual shifting mode that lets drivers make use of steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

Ultra-Precise Handling

In addition to its impressive straight-line speed, the Nissan Z displays unshakeable poise and finesse when navigating tight corners at the track. That’s thanks to its expertly tuned double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension that feature lightweight, yet sturdy aluminum-alloy construction. Stabilizer bars in the front and rear greatly reduce body roll.

All Nissan Z models feature speed-sensitive power steering that feels incredibly direct and allows you to change direction with minimal effort, whether you’re maneuvering in tight spaces or aiming to hit the apex at higher speeds. The standard brake setup brings the car to a quick stop, but the available Akebono 4-piston front and 2-piston rear calipers further decrease the braking distance.

Driver-Focused Cockpit

While reminiscent of previous Nissan Z car generations, the redesigned cabin offers improved materials and new features, such as a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument panel that can be customized in various ways. The instrument panel’s design incorporates input from NISMO Super GT driver Tsugio Matsuda and makes it easy to view everything from fluid temperatures to cornering G-forces. Deeply Bolstered sport seats and knee pads provide excellent support.

Available creature comforts include automatic climate control, 4-way power adjustability and heating for both seats, and genuine leather upholstery.

Loaded Infotainment System

An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system is standard and features integration for iOS and Android smartphones, Bluetooth hands-free technology, and voice recognition. The available 9-inch touchscreen system comes with a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot and an 8-speaker Bose premium audio system. It also offers versatile Alexa Built-in, allowing users to check the weather, change up the music, or access their smart devices back home.
